After winning the fifth grade writing contest for her fictional expose about extraterrestrial life on Mars, Katelin’s life would never be the same. To this day, she wonders if that first book was as brilliant as she remembers and if it’s still out there, somewhere, saved on a floppy disk.

Katelin eventually received a B.A. from the College of William and Mary in English and Psychology before moving to New York to attend New York University’s Summer Publishing Institute. A subsequent internship at This Old House turned into a four years of writing, pitching, researching, fact-checking and DIYing for the magazine. Currently she creates content for various publications and brands in her spare time, in between episodes of Property Brothers.

In addition to This Old House magazine, Katelin has also written for The Family Handyman, Bob Vila, HomeLight and multiple local news outlets on topics including home and garden, real estate, news and more. Feel free to reach out with any questions or projects.
